Coaching is a systematic process for helping people discover their strengths and unlock their inner resources in order to realize their personal objectives. Parent coaching is a collaborative process which assumes that you have the ability to raise your children well. Your work with your coach is intended to allow that ability to come to the surface and to focus it in the most productive way.

Coaching sessions are generally forty-five minutes and can be done on the phone or in person. Anyone who plays a significant role in a child’s life can participate in parent coaching, including grandparents, foster parents, childcare providers or extended family members. Couples can engage in parent coaching together or individually.

My deepest wish for my clients is that our work together will help them find that still, small voice within that will guide them through whatever challenges life puts in their path.

Parent Education Services

Paula offers parenting classes, based on Carolyn Webster-Stratton’s The Incredible Years, for parents of children from birth to eight years old. This award winning, evidence based program is built around a coaching model which assumes that parents are the experts on their own children. The curriculum looks at children according to their developmental ages and stages, and uses live, candid videotaped vignettes as the basis for group discussion.

The course is twelve weeks long, with a two-hour class every week and a brief check-in by phone with each family once a week. The ideal size is eight to twelve people, and the curriculum is flexible enough to accommodate the particular interests of each group.
